Holiday Cranberry Glitz!

So I was feeling pretty festive this thanksgiving and wanted to do a fun golden-cranberry look. I took inspiration from MissMischievous from YouTube. It's a nice warm, golden look that really makes those green eyes pop. As well, it's fairly simple to do and takes no time at all. Enjoy!

MAC Venomous Villains

Finally MAC's Disney Villains collection is out. I have waited for this collection all summer. It comprises of four different Disney Villains: Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians, The Evil Queen from Snow White and Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Of course I pretty much had to have the majority of the Maleficent collection since Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie. Now, if only they had Ursula from The Little Mermaid my life would be complete. Well, not really, but this collection would have gotten even more cool points. The other three collections were quite neutral in color. Maleficent's collection is not only my favorite because of Sleeping Beauty but because of its dark, gothic colors. Last night I finally had the time to play around with my new goodies and this is one of the looks I did. I would have liked to use the eyeshadows wet. However, I'm all out of Fix+ and I do have a water sprayer at hand. Those are the only ways I know of to use pan eyeshadows wet without damaging the entire product. Expect another awesome look from this collection. Also, the Maleficent collection is very reminiscent from MAC's Style Black collection from September 2009. So if anyone has missed out on the mineralized eyeshadows like the black-glitter-purple (Young Punk) or black-glitter-blue (Blue Flame) this is your chance to purchase those dupes.  I myself missed out on Young Punk and I wish I hadn't. At least My Dark Magic is a close enough dupe for it, so not a total loss. The colors are fitting because Maleficent is green and purple and so is my eyeshadow combination :D Enjoy!

Eyes:

She Who Dares e/s (green part) on inner corner
My Dark Magic e/s (purple-pink part) on outer corner
My Dark Magic e/s (purple-blue part) in crease

Playing Around with the Urban Decay Naked Palette

As many of you know the must have make-up product of this Fall is Urban Decay's Naked Palette. With 16 eyeshadows and 2 pencil eyeliner's it is full of never-ending color combination's from night and day to natural and smokey. I'm also in love with its brownish-red eyeliner called "Whiskey" that debuted in this palette, it really makes green eyes pop as you'll see below. I'll probably do more looks with this palette. The one I did below is more of a natural smokey look.

Sin- used on the inner portion of the lid
Hustle- used on the outer portion of the lid and blended into crease

Smoke and Diamonds

Yeah...it's been awhile. With my Election Law class, having wisdom teeth surgery and recovering from a major sunburn, unfortunately make-up has taken a back seat this summer. However, I'm hoping that will change! I did a look partly inspired by Jane from New Moon/Eclipse. It didn't really turn out as dark as I'd like so I may go back and try again. I also might do a vampire series. Though with this tanned skin I've got going, it's going to be difficult to pale out my skin. Oh well, I'm up for the challenge. Anyways, as always enjoy!

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion as base
Benefit's pewter eyeshadow from the smokin' palette (used all over lids and blended into crease)
NARS e/s in Night Breed (blended into crease)
MAC e/s in Dazzlelight (as highlight)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero (lower waterline and upper tightline)--> make this really dark and dramatic. Also you can blended it out for added drama :D
Bourjois Clubbing liquid eyeliner in Absolute Black (upper lashline)
Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara

Lips:
Benefit lipgloss in Raspberry

IMATS Vancouver

Ok, I gave in and did the make up look that is on the main page for IMATS Vancouver here. I just did the face part, I wasn't so inclined to do the entire neck and shoulder part. Also, I'm pretty sure they used an airbrushing machine for that part, else it would have taken awhile to do. Anyways, here is my interpretation of it! I really enjoyed doing this look and being more creative than usual. I might have to do this again for a theme party sometime.

Eyes:
Lime Crime e/s in Duchess (used wet)
NARS Night Breed
Revlon pencil eyeliner in Black
MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara

Lips:
Any dark purple color and I mixed it with a bit of black shadow

Cheeks:

New York Fashion Week

Last week was the yearly anticipated NYC Fashion Week. As I was browsing through one of my online make up site: Temptalia, I came across this runway look from Gwen Stefan's LAMB collection. So, I decided to do my own spin on it. I went a little more dramatic for the eyebrows and did a more smaller pout with my lips. Overall I really liked it. It kind of turned out looking more Geisha-esq, but it was a fun look to play with. Remember, be creative as you'd like! Don't like it, wash it off later :D

Eyes:
Revlon pencil eyeliner in Black
MAC Shadestick in Sharkskin
Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara

Lips:
any red lip liner (make sure to color in your lips after lining)
MAC Russian Red lipstick
any clear gloss (just dabbed in the middle of the lips)

D&G Inspired

I was reading a magazine the other day and this look I had to do. I love the make up ofold Hollywood and I love Scarlett Johansson, so it was a no brainer to try this look. It's pretty simple, although doing perfect red lips can be tricky. Just follow my lip tricks and doing a red lip won't be as scary as you thought. I also debated putting this look up because I wasn't as happy I thought I would be with the look. However, it is a good look for simple eyes and bold lips. A tribute to the 1940s Hollywood :)

Eyes:
Two Faced Eye Shadow Insurance
MAC paintpot in Bare Study
MAC Jest e/s all over lids, up to brow
Urban Decay Scratch e/s blended with Jest
MAC Satin Taupe e/s blended into the crease
MAC Dazzlelight e/s as highlight
MAC Goldmine e/s blended into lid
Bourjois liquid clubbing eyeliner in Absolute Black on upper lashline, winged out
Any white eyeliner on the lower waterline
Benefit's Browzings in Light

Cheeks:
Benefit HighBeam
MAC MSF in Petticoat

Lips:
1) concealer to mute out all lipcolor
2) Any red lipliner, fill in after you line the lips (this will make the color last longer) and make sure to excentuate the cupid's bow for that perfect pout!
3) MAC Russian Red lipstick or you can use any blue tone red lipstick (blue tones make your teeth look whiter, whereas the orange/yellow tones make your teeth look more yellow...boo)
4) clear lipgloss-- you can skip this step if you want a more matte look.
5) Finally, go around your lips with your concealer (use a small angled brush with hard bristles) to add precision to your lips and make it look more clean.
