NYE 2009

Yes it's been forever...however, I am going to try to update this more during 2010! Also, I might be working on a new blog dealing with health and exercise and stuff like that, but I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do that, but I'll let you all know. Anyways, it is NYE and that means over the top, awesome, fantabulous makeup! I did this one the other night and I may or may not use it for tonight or if I do add lots of glitter to it. NYE is really the only time you can pull off lots of glitter and people won't judge you (much). I hope you enjoy this dark purple smokey look. Though you can use any color you'd like...blue, green, pink, mix it up!

Eyes:
L'oreal HIP creme pigment in Eggplant-- used all over lid and blended lightly into crease
Dior e/s in Diorstar (I used the dark purple) blended on lid and blended up as far as you can go
NARS e/s in Night Breed over all the purple blended up as well, also used on lower lashline
MAC e/s in Dazzlelight as a highlight, also blended into the lower inner corner
Benefit Browzings in Light mix with NARS Night Breed for eyebrows
Bourjois liquid Clubbling Liner in Absolute Black on upper lashline
Urban Decay 24/7 pencil liner in Zero on waterline
Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara

Cheeks:
MAC MSF in Petticoat

Lips:
whatever light concealer you have to "erase" all color in your lips
Clinique lipgloss in Air Kiss

1920s inspired look

I have been wanting to do this look for awhile. Finally I had the time to sit down and experiment with this 1920s look. I took pictures in both color and black and white because the make up is so dark and intense that it looks better in black and white. Also, people in the 1920s apparently didn't smile, so with that going trend, I didn't either.

For Face:
Porcelain colored powder

Eyes:
Black pencil eyeliner all around the eyes and drawn into the crease. Smudge it out. Also define the eyebrows with dark brown gel. They had really thin, drawn on eyebrows during the 20s, I just defined mine more. Then for shadow I used a dark plum color to smoke out everything. I did use a light champagne color for the highlight and finished off with some black mascara.

Lips:
Red lip liner pencil and dark plum lipstick. The cupid's bow was very popular then, so that is what I tried to go for.

I hope you all enjoy the look!

Baby Blues

Sorry it has been awhile. Finals and graduating and everything took up all my time. Now it's summer and I have all the time in the world, when I'm not working that is. So here is a look I did earlier last week that I just love. I wanted to use pastel blues and I toned it down with a shimmer grey color.

Also, I want to make a shout out to Gemma and Elle at Spell Cosmetics! They rock sooo much! I love that they are so personable with their customers! It's such a breath of fresh air and Gemma helped me out so much this afternoon and I will finally get my Allthatglitz eyeshadows and blush that I have been waiting to get, it was my hey I'm done with finals and graduation, let's get some make up. Anyways, I highly recommend this company, they are by far my top pick for mineral eyeshadows. So GO HERE: SPELL COSMETICS! They just launched a new hologlow shadows that are duo-chromes and just absolutely brilliant, but so are all their other shadows and glosses. So go right now and check them out. :D And I will be doing a look specially dedicated to my Spell Cosmetics products, so look forward to that!

Formal Look Take #1

My sorority's formal is next Saturday and I decided to experiment with my makeup for it. My dress is a medium-hot pink with black. So I thought a nice pink-smokey black would be appropriate. I also had seen xsparkage on YouTube Midnight Barbie look that was hot pink and black so that was my inspiration along with the dress. I don't know yet if this is the actual look I'm going to do, so comments are welcomed! I think I went a bit overboard with the wing tips at the end of my eyes, but like I said I was merely experimenting. Also, I'll probably do fake lashes with this look to give it an extra something. As you can see, I have recently gotten into fake lashes and have fallen in love with them! Oh and don't judge my hair, I've been sick and haven't wanted to mess with it.

Eyes:
UDPP
MAC Sunset B. on the lid as a base
Lancome Hot Shimmery Pink (not sure of the name) from the 2006 Holiday palette in the crease
Lancome Makeover blended over MAC Sunset B. and into inner corner
NARS Night Breed blended into crease over the Hot Pink and under lower lashline
Clinque Confetti as a highlight
Stila Smudge Pot in Black on top lash line winged out (which is very difficult to get even on both sides, so practice practice practice!)
Revlon pencil eyeliner in Black on lower waterline
Maybelline Stiletto Mascara in Blackest Black

Lips:
MAC Bubbles
Spell Cosmetics Prom Date
Chanel Glossimer in Seashell

Old Hollywood Glamour

Ok so my university hosted a "Prom Party" two weeks ago and yes I'm completely swamped and had no time to put this look up. However, now that I'm sick and bored and awake there is no time like the present to add some looks. By the way, it's my BIRTHDAY!!! I'm old.

Anyways, the eyes I did with my usual MAC Satin Taupe and NARS Night Breed night look. But I did add some flash lashes! The big number in this look is the red, red lips. I was going for a "Old Glamour Hollywood" look and I liked the turn out of it. I hope you all do too. Enjoy!

Eyes:
UDPP
MAC Satin Taupe all over lid
NARS Night Breed in crease and under the outer lower lashes
MAC Grand Entrance as a highlight and in inner corner of eyes
Sephora liquid eyeliner on top lash line
Revlon pencil eyeliner on lower waterline
Ardell Lashes #110
Maybelline Stiletto Mascara in Blackest Black

Lips:
Rimmel Lip Pencil in Lavish--First outline your lips, defining the cupid's bow. Then color in your lips with the pencil.
AllthatGlitters Gloss in Bitten-- Swipe on using a brush after you put color all over, take a concealer brush and concealer and outline your lips. This will make the lips look extra defined and prevent any bleeding of the color.
**Also before you apply the lip liner put concealer all over your lips for added protection.

Hot Contact

The things you find when randomly shopping. So I had the opportunity to go the Cosmetics Company Store with a sorority sister who got to witness my addiction with make up. Love you Kelsi! While I was there I picked up the amazing MAC Mineralized Eyeshadow called Hot Contact. Now, I'm not a very big fan of their mineralized products, I consider myself more of a traditionalist and I don't like a lot of colors swirled about. However, this one caught my attention. It had red in it! And we all know how much I love red eyeshadows! So I picked it up. After having used it I am quite pleased with the results. So I might just in the future by inclined to purchase more of these mineralized colors.

New Releases!
MAC released their Dazzleglass lipglosses this past Tuesday in 18 amazing colors, they actually weren't suppose to be released until April 30th but hey earlier is always better. I hope to pick a couple for myself to try out. Also don't forget the "Rose Romance" collection will be out April 23rd with some new spring colors! This collection I am definitely saving up for. Alright well back to my "Hot Contact" look, hope you enjoy!
